The Hillhurst Sunnyside Farmers’ Market is an initiative of the Hillhurst Sunnyside Community Association, and as such, is largely dependent on the kindness and generosity of our volunteer base.

 

If you want to help make our farmers’ market the best in the city, and have some time and energy to do so, we’d love to hear from you. We will try our best to match your interests with our needs.  Snacks will be provided, as well as a volunteer appreciation party nearing the end of the market season in October.

 

 

 

Volunteer Opportunities

 

 

KIDS' CRAFT TABLE - We're looking for a creative someone to occasionally run the kids' craft table at Market from 3-7 p.m. Painting, drawing, collage, you name it! Face-painting skills are an asset.

 

PARKING LOT ATTENDANT - During market hours, the parking lot can get a little hairy. We're looking for someone able to direct traffic and make sure that things stay safe and that we get the most out of the limited space we have!

 

POSTER/FLYER DISTRIBUTION - Each week during market season, a few days prior to market day, posters and/or flyers may need to be distributed to households, businesses, and community bulletin boards. Volunteers are needed to help with distribution.

 

SIGNS! - Someone is needed to help put out signs for the market either with your vehicle or our bike trailer (signs are heavy!) during the afternoon on market days, and also to assist in picking them up at 7 pm.
